Cheating policy
Where an allegation of cheating during an exam is received by ACE the Training Manager or Centre Manager shall lead the investigation. During the investigation the student shall be advised of the allegation and invited to respond in writing within ten days of the advice.
Having investigated the allegation and finding it proved, the Training Manager or Centre Manager must inform the student in writing of the breach and the penalty imposed by Microsoft® or Prometric. A copy of the Prometric test centre regulations is available for perusal from the Prometric Administrator at ACE and must be signed prior to every exam sat. These regulations include “Do not use written notes, published materials or other testing aids …Laptop computers, palmtop computers and calculators are not allowed”.
If Prometric or Microsoft® finds the allegation proved it may impose any one or more of the following penalties:
- recording of a fail grade for the exam.
- cancellation of passes in previous exams.
- exclusion from sitting future exams.
- recording of the penalty imposed on the attendee's personal file.
In the case where Prometric or Microsoft® finds the allegation proved there is no refund of any fees from ACE.
The Training Manager or Centre Manager will inform the student of the outcome of the hearing in writing to the student’s last known address or email address.
A student who believes that the penalty imposed by Prometric or Microsoft® to be unfair or unjustified may write to Prometric or Microsoft® via the www.prometric.com or www.microsoft.com websites. This should be completed within ten working days of the mailing or emailing of a letter informing the student of a penalty imposed.
ACE has signed a testing delivery agreement with Prometric and Microsoft® and abides by their rules and regulations.
